Fish Camp and South 40 Campout

This is a one-night campout at the South 40 location. We’ll depart the scout garage by 8:30 Saturday morning and go to a small, private lake where we’ll fish through lunch and into the afternoon. Scouts should bring a pack lunch, water and snacks for the day – we will not be cooking at the lake.

After a day fishing we’ll take a short drive to the South 40 where we’ll have a fun evening camping and cooking up our catch.

All scouts will have the opportunity to earn the Fishing Merit Badge, Fly-Fishing Merit Badge and complete work on the Fish and Wildlife Merit badge.

Any scout interested in earning one of these merit badges will need to signup on the sheet available at the Scout meetings.

We will have a meeting on March 19th for scouts working on the merit badges. Read more details about the meeting and the preparation scouts need to make to earn the merit badges. Scouts earning the merit badges are expected to read the BSA pamphlets for Fishing or Fly-Fishing available from the scout store, the Troop 118 Library or Mr. Shorter. Please note that some requirements have changed in recent years so make sure you download the latest requirements or worksheets from the meeting prep page.
